On the day of a burial.
A burial should ask nothing of the family but their presence. Here is how the day runs at Dovecot, and how to reach us about a service.
Before the day
Your funeral home confirms the date and garden with our office. Our grounds team prepares the site the afternoon before, and the gate staff are briefed on your procession.
Arriving
Processions enter through the main gate at Kirkpatrick Hall. Arrive twenty minutes ahead of the service time; our staff will direct cars and walk the family to the graveside.
The committal
The service at the graveside runs as your family and clergy wish. Our team stays through the committal and closes the grave with care once the family has withdrawn.
Afterwards
The grass is restored within days, and the grave is added to the Book of Life. You are welcome back at any time the park is open, as often as you like.
Attending a service, or looking for a grave?
Service times are confirmed with the family and their funeral home rather than published here. Call the office to confirm a time, and our team can locate any grave in the park and walk you to it. Bring the name and, if you know it, the year.
